Pilar is feeding cardstock into the production printer while a booklet job runs through the finisher and stacks in the output tray. The print ticket says the next tray change needs blue cover stock, but the cutter also needs the proof sheet checked now. The supervisor said the cutter cannot start trimming until Pilar signs off on the proof sheet. The printer display is already asking for the cover stock, and opening the tray too late may pause the long run. The operator beside the cutter is waiting with the clamp raised, because the guillotine is set for this paper size. Pilar can leave the printer for a quick check, or stay at the tray and keep the run moving.

- Pilar stays at the printer, loads the blue cover stock, and checks the proof after the tray change. The run keeps moving, but the cutter waits and the trimming queue backs up.
- Pilar tells the cutter operator she is checking the proof first, signs it, and returns straight to the printer for the cover stock. The cutter can start, and the long run loses little time.
- Pilar asks the supervisor to check the proof while she handles the cover stock. The printer keeps running, but the cutter still waits if the supervisor is tied up.
