Excellent Career-Oriented Workbook for 12+ Year Olds

Kindle Version: This workbook is another in the splendid series from 25x that is primarily targeted at middle and junior high school students. It follows the format of presenting 25 information modules outlining technologies and careers in related computer science and information technology followed in each case by a series of exercises that help the reader rehearse and apply the information presented. The Kindle edition has the drawback that it is not (yet) implemented in an interactive format and is not compatible with all Kindle tablets (check this before buying this edition). Most purchasers may probably therefore want to purchase the paperback version to preserve a record of their work. Nevertheless, 25x’s work is attractive visually and pedagogically sound for use with its primary target audience.

This is a great addition

I am pairing this with Code.org for my computer class. The students are enjoying it.

This is a great resource for a sub day or no internet day. It is not a tutorial in the step-by-step sense. This is more of an introduction style assignment you can use with notes, questions, crossword, and word search. I am utilizing them for our AMI (Alternative Methods of Instruction) days for snow etc. and for sub days or when I cannot utilize technology. I am also using it to supplement my current curriculum.

This is a huge resource containing 50 lessons. Each lesson has an article, guided notes based on the article, reflection questions, vocab, a crossword and a word search. This is a great resource to use to introduce concepts. Highly recommended.

Update: I reached out to John and Lee and they responded within minutes of my email and post. They looked into the issue and are providing answers. Looks like an issue with my Google Drive or TPT but the whole file did not download so just have to redownload. I've changed my review from a 3 to a 5 because of their awesome support and the depth that these unplugged activities provide my students. (Original post: I am using this resource while out on sick leave with some advanced students. I like the resource as it gives them some unplugged time while reviewing concepts and thinking more deeply about concepts they are familiar with. However, unlike the first set of CS topics bundle, this one only has keys for the word search and crossword. I'm having to create keys for the sub to be able to grade them. I wish there were complete keys for this set.) Thank you John and Lee!!!!
